We are proud of our simple and enjoyable design process
How our design process works:
Whether you are creating a new landscape, renovating an existing one, or simply wanting to improve your current outdoor living space, our design process is simple and enjoyable.
1. Design ConsultationWe meet with you at your home, property or our office to discuss your requirements and develop a design brief. We discuss your desires and ideas as well as assessing the style and layout of your home. Once we understand your requirements we can put together a proposal that outlines the design brief and our fees.
The cost of the site consultation is $350.00 (excluding GST). We allow 1.5 hours for the consultation. |
2. Concept PlanOnce we have conducted a site analysis, we prepare a landscape concept plan showing how your spaces are laid out in relation to the house and taking into consideration the site, climate, views and local council or developer regulations. We take time to discuss this plan with you and make any amendments to tailor it to your exact needs. This plan can be used to get quotes on construction costs.
|
3. Planting PlanOnce the Concept Plan is finalised, we put together a planting plan showing the locations of specific plants, including spacing and the botanical and common names. We have excellent knowledge and experience of Canterbury planting and can ensure that the appropriate plants are chosen and positioned correctly for each site.
|
4. Construction DetailsThere may be some elements of your landscape that need specific drawings/construction details. These elements may include pergolas, outdoor fireplaces, water features, walls, fences and gates. These drawings ensure the work can be priced and constructed more accurately. We can also provide drawings to help obtain council consents if required.
|
5. Construction SupervisionWe are happy to help organise quotes for the construction work and to recommend specific contractors, such as lighting designers and pool manufacturers etc.. We like to stay involved during the construction process to ensure your landscape is completed to the highest standards and help answer any questions from yourselves or the contractors involved.
|
6. On-going MaintenanceOnce your project is completed we can organise a bi-annual site visit. We walk through your property with you discussing what needs to be done to keep the plants healthy and at the desired shapes and sizes. Regular visits after the work has been completed can ensure the plants are kept healthy and at the desired sizes and shapes.
